A naked woman half in shadow looks pensive as she walks up a narrow flight of wooden stairs. — A change from photographing myself alone to doing so in the company of others led to another shift. Marked by this photograph in the Edwardian terrace house I had owned for over two decades and was in the process of selling. In the stillness and confines of its narrow staircase, technical considerations dependent on sight have been replaced by a raw energy reliant on touch and visualisation.
